Department Logo Creation Restriction

Individual departments should not—and do not need to—create their own logo artwork.

Athletic Brand Typography Requirement

Any words or type associated with a WPI athletic mark must use the official typography: United Serif Regular Black or United Serif Semi-Condensed Black.

Athletic Mark Combination Restriction

Athletic marks should not be combined with any institutional or other WPI brands.

Athletic Marks for Varsity Sports

Athletic marks are for Varsity sports, club sports should contact athletics department for appropriate artwork.

Mark Alteration Prohibition

The marks cannot be altered in any way including form, proportion, color, or integrity.

Mark Incorporation Restriction

A mark may be incorporated into a design as long as the integrity of the mark is not altered and the mark is not dominated by the marks of others. A mark may not be incorporated into a design or overlapped by other design elements.

Mark Color Version Restriction

The color versions of the marks must stay as they are shown; no reversing or color changing is permitted.

Mark Proportion and Detail Requirement

When changing the dimensions of the mark by size, the proportions must be maintained and all details must be clean, crisp and in registration. The marks cannot be altered in form, proportion, color or integrity.

Logo Isolation Area Requirement

The area of isolation around the logo needs to be the height of the W in WPI.

Institutional Mark Typography Requirement

Any words or type associated with a WPI institutional mark must use the official typography: Minion Pro or Myriad Pro.

Repeating Pattern Restriction

No repeating patterns of either the WPI Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and/or Stand Alone institutional marks as well as the Athletic institutional marks.

Stand Alone WPI Usage Restriction

Use of the stand alone WPI is restricted to use on apparel or other uses as approved by the Division of Marketing & Communications. No other type or imagery may be used in combination with the stand alone WPI.
