Logo Clear Space and Placement

The area surrounding the logo must be equal to or more than the height of the W mark or the Rocky face from each of the respective logos. The logo must not be placed close to distracting design elements and must not become part of a larger pattern or design element.

Logo Color Alteration Restriction

The logo must not be altered in color, only colors shown will be allowed.

"W" Brand Mark Usage Requirement

The "W" brand mark can be used in designs, but still requires a WIU identifier or a word mark to be included somewhere within the design to be approved.

Word Mark Usage Guidance

Word marks are meant to be used in cases where the full logo wouldn't fit or be legible with the "W" brand mark included.

Gust Typeface Usage

The university does not use the "Caps Locked" versions of Gust. The correct way to use Gust and stay on brand is to keep "Caps Lock" off at all times.

Use of University Seal requires special approval from Western Illinois University.

No banned substances or references may be used in conjunction with University marks, unless specified otherwise by University Marketing.
