University Of Alaska Fairbanks Brand Guidelines

The year 1917 should not be used in athletics designs.

Never use a comma, dash or hyphen between Alaska Fairbanks when writing University of Alaska Fairbanks.

The name 'UAF Alumni Association' should be used only with the Alumni bear and not any other UAF marks. The Alumni bear should be used with the words 'UAF Alumni', 'Alumni', 'UAFAA' or 'UAF Alumni Association.' Additional wording can be included as long as it is clear the Alumni bear is connected to the Alumni Association.

When using University of Alaska Fairbanks separate from the UAF marks, the graphic treatment needs to ensure that it's clear that the name of UAF is University of Alaska Fairbanks and not University of Fairbanks or just University of Alaska.

The walking bear image may not be used alone.

UAF athletic logos containing Alaska and/or the A Bear must be used in the original three-color treatment and font. Do not alter the spacing, shape or proportions of this art. Two-color exceptions to the three-color treatment may sometimes be permitted on white, gold, or blue merchandise where the color of the garment can work in place of the third ink color, and as long as the bear remains white.

On UAF athletics logos with single color lettering (e.g. NANOOKS element of Athletic Marks 16 or 17), the color of that element must be blue or gold, not white.

UAF athletic logos may not be combined with the UAF primary or secondary marks or the Alumni bear.

Use of the athletic graphic treatment is encouraged on designs containing the words Athletics or Athletic Department.

The phrase Alaska Nanooks needs to be in the athletic graphic treatment. UAF Nanooks should not be in the athletics treatment.

Do not separate the athletics logos into individual elements, or recombine them to make new graphics.

No use of current players' name, image, or likeness is permitted on commercial products in violation of NCAA rules and regulations.

No references to alcohol, drugs, or tobacco related products may be used in conjunction with University marks.

Mascot caricatures are not allowed other than the ones on the art sheet.
