Mississippi State University Brand Guidelines

Never alter or redraw the logo elements. Do not change the proportions or reconfigure the logo. Rotating the logo is not allowed. Resetting the type is not allowed, or using other M-State versions. Filled white versions of this mark or ones where the banner is not white are no longer used.

No alterations or overlapping graphics are permitted with the seal. The minimum diameter of the seal is 5/8". Use of the seal should be restricted to business cards and official university documents, such as diplomas, high-level certificates, awards, annual reports, and letterhead from the Office of the President.

The primary spirit mark (M-State) may be stacked with unit names only on merchandise and apparel, when the full unit logo cannot be used due to space or clarity.

The following marks must be used with a primary mark or text referencing Mississippi State University: cowbell marks, state outline mark, silhouette mark, paw mark.

The use of the Script State mark requires prior approval by the Office of Public Affairs.

The Script State may not be used in combination with academic and research unit names.

Welcome to Fabulous Starkvegas graphic can be used by Athletics, alumni, student organizations and internal departments on promotional items or at retail. It cannot be used as a standalone graphic without reference to the university on print materials.

The Bully & Belle Marks may be used as is or customized with alternate clothing and props for Student Organizations and other Institutional Units outside of Athletics. Any altered illustrated version of these upright, dressed bully marks must be reviewed and approved by the Office of Public Affairs prior to use.

The following marks are restricted and/or for retail: Vintage Mississippi State bulldog with flag logo, Walking bulldog in MSU sweater logo, Interlocking MS logo, Interlocking MS logo with registered trademark, MSU monogram logo, Stylized Mississippi State wordmark, M with arrow logo, Bulldog head inside M logo for Mississippi State University, Mississippi State wordmark with large S, MSU inside a circle logo, Mississippi State Bulldogs helmet logo, Bulldog playing baseball illustration.

MSU retired the following marks from future use in promotion of the university: Mississippi State University retired logo 1, Mississippi State University retired logo 2, Mississippi State University retired logo 3, Mississippi State University retired logo 4, Mississippi State University retired logo 5, Mississippi State University retired logo 6, Mississippi State University retired logo 7, Mississippi State University retired logo 8, Mississippi State University retired logo 9, Mississippi State University retired logo 10, Mississippi State University retired logo 11.

University licenses consumables (must have expiration date on packaging).

University licenses health and beauty products.

University permits numbers on products for resale. Numbers 1, 00, 78 and current calendar year are allowed.

Mascot caricatures will be considered; requires school approval.

Cross licensing with other marks may be permitted with an additional agreement.

No references to alcohol, drugs, or tobacco related products may be used in conjunction with University marks.
