Logo Placement on Publications
For visual consistency, the Loyola wordmark is placed at the bottom right corner of all publications and advertisements to make materials more readily identifiable at a glance.
Permitted Logo Formats
Loyola’s logo can be used in the following four formats: (1) wordmark (preferred), (2) horizontal graphic and wordmark, (3) vertical graphic and wordmark, or (4) horizontal wordmark.
Logo Color Usage
The logo can be used in any one of the three official university colors (or black, or white) at a time, but cannot be two different colors, i.e.: the building in black and the type in maroon.
Marquette Graphic Usage Restriction
The Marquette graphic is not the official Loyola logo when displayed by itself without the accompanying logo type.
No Department or Unit Logos
Official university policies do not allow development of or use of logos or graphic elements for departments, units or programs; the exception being graphical elements used by centers and institutes.
Only Official University Logo on External Communications
University policy is that the official university logo is the only logo that can be used on any external communications.
Presidential Seal Usage
The official presidential seal is used only on formal and official documents such as transcripts, diplomas, contracts, and formal invitations from the Offices of the President and Alumni Relations. It should be used alone, with discretion, and not immediately adjacent to the university logo.
Presidential Seal Color Usage
The seal can be used in any one of the three official university colors (or black, or white), or in four color.
Wolf Pack Logo Usage
The official Wolf Pack logo is the official logo for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Wellness (DIAW) in the Office of Student Affairs and may only be used for promotion of DIAW and no other offices or departments. These logos can be used in the configurations indicated in this guide but cannot be altered in any way. It should be used alone and not immediately adjacent to the university logo or seal. The copy/type in these logos may not be changed, altered, or added to.
Wolf Pack Logo Color Usage
Please use this logo with the appropriate PMS colors that are already within the artwork; these colors cannot be altered into any other format or color.
Wolf Pack Logo Variations
There are one-, two-, and three-color variations to these logos. In rare occasions, the “Wolf” graphic may be used without type.
Alumni Logo Usage
The Loyola alumni logo is used only on formal and official alumni printed materials and merchandise. It should be used alone and not immediately adjacent to the university logo.
Alumni Logo Color Usage
The alumni logo, if printed in one color, can be produced in any one of the official university PMS colors (or black). If printed in two colors, it can be produced in any combination of the three PMS colors (or black) with restriction of only using color on the outside ring, not on the seal. The four-color seal should be printed as is—no exceptions or color changes.
Alumni Logo Discretion
The alumni seal is a formal crest for Loyola University New Orleans alumni; therefore, it should be used with discretion.
College and Office Logo Hierarchy
The logo hierarchy is as follows: Brand the product (Loyola) first. Brand the college or office secondarily. Brand the department, center or event.
No Individual College or Office Logos Without University Wordmark
Individual logos for colleges and offices without the university wordmark are not allowed.
Centers and Institutes Graphic Elements Usage
Center graphics are not official logos and will be used in conjunction with the official Loyola logo or as an element on their website. These graphic elements never stand alone and must be used secondarily after the establishment of the official university logo.
Centers and Institutes Graphic Element Color Usage
The graphic element can be used in any one or two of the schools three colors (PMS 202, PMS 130, or PMS 873) at a time, but cannot be three different colors.
Do Not Use Marquette Graphic Alone
Do not use the Marquette graphic by itself.
Do Not Recreate or Modify Trademarks
Do not recreate or modify Loyola’s trademarks in any way.
Do Not Use Loyola Logos with Other Logos
Do not use Loyola logos or trademarks in conjunction with other logos or trademarks.
Do Not Squish or Skew Trademarks
Do not squish or skew any Loyola trademark. Both axes should be the same percentage.
Do Not Flip or Remove Copy from Logos
Do not flip the athletics logo or remove the copy from any of the official university logos.
Copyright and Law Compliance
All departments are responsible for and must adhere to U.S. and international copyright laws (including guidelines for fair use); comply with local, state, and federal laws; and comply with university web page policies and all other university policies.
