Colorado Mesa University Brand Guidelines

It is very important as you develop designs incorporating these marks that you keep these two themes separate and distinct. In particular the Maverick Head is an athletic mark and it should not be used with the institution signature.

The interlocking CMU mark has two official color combinations. The first has the mark filled with maroon and outline in yellow or gold. Place this version on photos and almost all color background. The only exception is when the mark is on a maroon background. When that occurs, the color combination should change to have a white fill with a gold or yellow outline. All other color combinations are not allowed and are to be avoided.

The interlocking CMU mark can be reproduced in one-color using maroon, black, white, or yellow.

All uniforms and apparel for CMU Athletics are required to use these logos, and will only be permitted on Maroon, White, or Black backgrounds.

These Mascot marks are only to be used with Athletic Marks.

In CMU's one-color mascot marks, Rowdy's eyebrows will always be dark. Simply inverting the color will result in a photo negative look that is not acceptable for the brand. Please use the specially prepared files when using a light color for the mark (white or yellow) on a dark background (maroon or black).

Individual sport names may be paired with the interlocking and the athletic signature marks, and should only be set in the font ITC Serif Gothic, Heavy and placed below the mark.

University licenses consumables (must have expiration date on packaging).

University licenses health and beauty products.

University permits numbers on products for resale.

Mascot caricatures permitted.

Cross licensing with other marks may be permitted with an additional agreement.

No use of current players' name, image, or likeness is permitted on commercial products in violation of NCAA rules and regulations.

No references to alcohol, drugs, or tobacco related products may be used in conjunction with University marks.
