Cal script cannot be altered or distressed in any way.
Bears Script Marks Usage
Bears Script Marks can only be used with other athletics logos.
Block C Marks Retail Usage
Marks 15 & 16 for all retail uses must be used with an additional campus logo, on the item, such as Golden Bears, Cal Bears, California Golden Bears, or Cal script logo.
Cal Script Color Usage
Cal script may only be reproduced in black, gray, white, PMS 282 Navy, and PMS 123 Gold.
No Alterations to Athletic Marks
No alterations to athletic marks permitted.
Athletic Marks Not With Institutional Logos
Athletic marks may not be used with University/Institutional logos.
University of California With Athletics Mark
University of California must be used with an additional Athletics mark.
Mascot Caricatures Case-by-Case
Mascot caricatures permitted (reviewed on a case-by-case basis).
University Landmarks Case-by-Case
University landmarks, buildings, statues, etc. may be permitted, and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and will be required to follow same guidelines as approval process.
Camouflage Designs Case-by-Case (Athletics)
Camouflage designs reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
No Use of Current Players' NIL
No use of current players' name, image, or likeness is permitted on commercial products in violation of NCAA rules and regulations.
Seal Negative Space Requirement
The seal is a stand-alone mark and must have at least half the size of the seal logo being used in negative space all the way around the logo.
Walking Bear and Seal Not Together
At absolutely no time can the walking bear and the seal be used together on any item, even if the campus name is used.
Walking Bear Logo Placement
The Walking Bear logo can be used on either the front or back of an item, that has either UC Berkeley or University of California, Berkeley on the opposite side. If there is no front and back option for said item (example sticker sheet, pennant, etc.) then the walking bear logo is not usable with campus branding.
No Alterations to Seal or Institutional Marks
No alterations or overlaying graphics to seal or institutional marks permitted.
No Mixing Institutional and Athletic Marks
University/Institutional marks may not be mixed with athletic marks and logos.
University Department Names Case-by-Case
University Department names, landmarks, building, etc. may be permitted and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and will be required to follow same guidelines as approval process.
No Camouflage With Institutional Marks
Camouflage designs not permitted with Institutional marks.
No Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco With Marks
No references to alcohol, drugs, or tobacco related products may be used in conjunction with University of California, Berkeley marks.
University of California With Institutional Mark
University of California must be used with an additional institutional mark.
Numbers Permitted on Products for Resale
University permits numbers on products for resale.
