University Seal Usage Restrictions

The university will limit the use of the seal on items for retail and instead recommends using the institutional or athletics mark on retail items. Some formal items, such as lapel pins, crystal/glassware, and diploma frames, will be allowed where the seal is appropriate. Products using the seal will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Spirit Mark Usage Requirements

The stallion, state mark and horseshoe must always be accompanied by the primary or a secondary athletics mark. Horseshoe mark must always be upright or at a 15° angle. Never facing down or sideways. The state mark and horseshoe cannot be a letter substitute for any letter in the university name.

No Alterations to University Seal

No alterations or overlaying graphics to seal permitted.

No Use of Current Players' Name, Image, or Likeness

No use of current players' name, image, or likeness is permitted on commercial products in violation of NCAA rules and regulations.

No references to alcohol, drugs, or tobacco related products may be used in conjunction with University marks.

Graphic Weight of 'Alabama' and 'Huntsville'

When presented graphically, 'Alabama' must never carry more graphic weight than 'Huntsville' and the word 'in' must always appear between the two. In some cases, 'Huntsville' may be approved in a heavier weight.

References to 'Alabama Huntsville' will no longer be approved. The preferred way to reference the university is 'UAH' or 'The University of Alabama in Huntsville'.
